ASAP INDEX (ASAP) - Definitions
ASAP RATINGS - What do they mean ?
The 'ASAP Ratings' is a financial markets-type 'moving index'. It measures the quality of players or teams at a given point in time. The difference between any two ratings represents the likely future margin between those two teams on a level playing field.

When the playing field is not level; eg where the home side has a calculable advantage according to recent history, as with other matters which have importance to particular sports (weather, day/night, full representation etc), which are able to be calculated objectively by computer analysis, the ratings are automatically adjusted by moving percentages to produce a predictive score under the prevailing conditions. This score is illustrated on various reports on the top navigation bar (Matchup Schedule, Game Chart, Forecast, Formline) under the heading 'ASAP Score' or 'ASAP Margin'.
